Mathematics Focus
At Anchorage Park School, we develop a love of mathematics with a deep sense of curiosity and inquisitiveness. As students move through the phases of the mathematics curriculum, students come to understand the value of mathematical and statistical investigation.
Our students learn to think, reason, communicate, reflect upon, and critique the mathematics they encounter. When making sense of ideas, students are provided with opportunities to work both independently and collaboratively. Rich learning activities are designed by the teachers to engage the students in a range of mathematical contexts and problem solving opportunities.
At Anchorage Park School, students discover that they have the ability to make sense of, and thrive in mathematics. We have developed a set of mathematical norms to encourage our learners to express their mathematical capacity both creatively and in a positive and proactive manner.
